A little history about Memorial Day- The holiday was originally created to honor Union soldiers who had fallen in the Civil War. After World War 1, it expanded to honor all those in the military who have bravely served our country. In the 1800's it was called "Decoration Day" as loved ones would go decorate the tombs of fallen soldiers. On a day like this, I cannot help but thank the Lord for the freedoms that we have in this country. So many people have greatly sacrificed so we can be free. Let us never take it for granted. Ultimately, there is one who gave the biggest sacrifice in the history of mankind, Jesus! And He is worthy to be celebrated everyday!
So enjoy your cookouts, pools, lake days, loved ones and friends! Have fun eating your hot dogs & hamburgers! This is the day that the Lord has made, rejoice & celebrate! Thank you Jesus for freedom and those who have sacrificed for our freedom. Happy Memorial Day!!!!
Xoxo, Natalie
